Happy Tuesday Everyone! My baby is back! That's right, my car is back! I picked up my Dodge Journey from Tigard SUV. I highly recommend going to this shop for all your automotive needs. It was nice to have the vehicle working again. No issues under the hood thankfully.
Tonight was the March Oregon AMS Meeting. Mark Nelsen presented the 2017-2018 Winter Recap. The Portland NWS Office had just over 7 inches for the winter. Mark will have another recap for the Winter Weather Meeting coming up in October.
In other exciting news, I was nominated again to be Vice President of our chapter. I accepted the nomination and I look forward to doing some really cool things this year. I'm really happy to have been a part of the chapter for now for over ten years.
Day 325...
Happy Wednesday! The snow was still coming down this afternoon as yet another Nor' Easter slammed the Northeastern Seaboard. Snow was flying from Washington DC to New York to Boston. One of the best parts of The Weather Channel's coverage was Reynolds Wolf in New York City. He had this gem this afternoon.
That's a new one..."Winter's Confetti" aka snow via @ReynoldsWolf on #wutv. Great live coverage. Also found out @Paul_Goodloe is the same size as Cam Newton! @weatherchannel @mikebettes— Bobby Corser (@BobbyCorser) March 21, 2018
Another interesting tidbit from the NSSL. VORTEX-SE is up and running. Today was media day for the program that studies the origins of tornadoes. The program is in a three year mode, starting in 2016.
