Day 326...

Day 326...

Happy Thursday!  Let's talk about the hail.  Insert random comment here about the hail.  Michigan, or holy hail, or what the hail.  All of them make me laugh.  Let's establish a timeline of the hail today.  I first experienced this afternoon at 3:14pm.  Here is the radar image.  I'm under the "K" in King City.

I called in a spotter report to NWS Portland.  After the call, I submitted the mPing Report.

We had seen several reports of pop up storms with the unstable atmosphere overhead.  The latest wave of storms bubbled up.  Check out the hail-man...

Here is the wave of storms as they came across the metro area.

Here is what it looked like back in King City as the heaviest cell moved over head.  Video courtesy of my twin sister, Emily Andersen.

As more reports came in of hail, thunder, and lightning, Kathie Dello from Oregon State chimed in to a tweet chain between Brooke Olzendam and myself.

You can expect more of the showers tonight.  Most of the instability will die down now that the sun has set.
