Days 471...472...473...474...475...476...

Day 471...

Happy Wednesday Everyone!  I've been busy getting the camp stuff ready to go tomorrow to Brownsville.  I'm really excited to wrap up the final festival of the year and see some good friends.  I'm looking forward to seeing Kid Rock on Sunday, Eric Church on Friday, Justin Moore and Lady A wrap up Saturday.  The whole weekend however will be about Friday's headliner, Alabama.  The country legendary band will take the stage at 8pm.  I can't wait to see them.

Day 472...

Thursday...Ugh...Today was a tough go.  I didn't leave town until 3pm and by the time I got to Brownsville, I was still sort of annoyed with a lot of things.  I've talked about Jake Owen's podcast (available on iTunes).  His recent episode was a departure from the norm, but it was something worth listening too.  He taped the podcast while driving from his house to the gym.  He's very open about life and how the decisions you make impact your life.  It really made me think about where I was and where I was going overall.  I traded text messages with him and thanked him for sharing his heart.  I got into the festival just after Alabama took the stage and I really enjoyed the set.  I get to say I saw them.  The music was great!

Day 473...

Happy Friday...I'm exhausted.  Remember the fun of the Jamboree and me getting cold?  Yup it happened again.  I was up at 4:45am. Chilled...With layers of clothes and extra blankets.  I decided to get up and drive to the hotel to shower.  After a good breakfast I headed back to camp.  It was Eric Church day!  When I gone at the hotel, apparently festival security told my fellow tent campers we needed to move.  Upon returning to camp, the tent was relocated.  I was feeling tired and I took a nap.  A thirty minute power nap can change your attitude for the day.  2pm was Adam Craig on the sunrise stage.  I've known Adam for several years and I'm really proud of what he's accomplished and what he is doing in country music.  I think 2019 will be his year!

He played the acoustic set and the crowd was very into the show.  It was really cool to see all the people from his home town come down to see him play.

The night brought Eric Church.  I wanted to see him and see if his show had changed after he went through Route 91.  He kicked off his set with "Pledge Allegiance To The Hag" and it was off and running from there.

Day 474...

Just after 2:30 this morning, I felt my air mattress deflate and I was laying on the ground.  I luckily had access to an air pump and was able to re-inflate the air mattress.  I slept until 8:30, my first actual good night sleep at a festival this year.  The mattress held the air and it was that small victory that really set the tone for Saturday.  After last nights amazing show with Eric, I was looking forward to seeing Justin Moore and Lady A tonight.  My mom made the drive down to see the show and I was so glad she did.  Justin stole the show and Lady A reminded us all why they continue to win awards and have number one records.  Following the show, I packed up the tent and drove home.

Day 475...

A sleep in my own bed and two hot showers later, I was ready to head back down I-5 to finish out the weekend.  Kid Rock was the headliner of the "Southern Rock Sunday" as I called it.  While Kid Rock isn't exactly country, I was still really excited to see him.  I was not disappointed.  He brought energy, he brought excitement and he brought the passion that his fans expect from him show.  He blended that in your face style with romantic ballads and rap lyrics seamlessly.  I left the show wanting more and that's how you know it was a good show.  It wasn't my cup of tea, it became my shot of whiskey.

Day 476...

Happy Monday everyone!  I had a late morning airport run to pick up some family and then took a nap.  The festival recovery time is usually a couple days long.  The nap was nice but even by 8pm I was feeling tired.  I hope everyone had a good weekend and I hope this week is productive and successful for you!  Onward we go!
