Days 466...467...468...469...470...

Day 466...

What a very strange night indeed.  Just after 8:30pm, I saw a tweet about a possible hi-jacked airplane from Seattle and what followed was something out of wild novel.  An employee steals a plane and manages to get it airborne, performs some aerobatics and then crashes the plane into an island.  I kept asking myself how this was even possible in this day in age, but knowing full well that it did indeed happen.  I'm sure we will know a lot more in the coming days.  Here is the statement from Alaska Airlines.

Day 467...

Happy Saturday!  The events of last night are still on my mind.  I've seen a lot of the video that was shot by people who were under and around the plane as it did things that I'm sure the designers never thought it would do.  For an apparent novice to do those moves are truly jaw-dropping.  I think the ATC professionals from Seattle need to be recognized for the amazing work they did in keeping others in the air safe and away from the rogue plane.  Also, a big thank you to the pilots and crew of the 152nd Fighter Wing based at PDX.  They made the trip from Portland to McCord field in just about four minutes.  Simply amazing.  I'm headed to Bend in the morning to DJ the Radabaugh Wedding.  I can't wait!

Day 468...

Happy Sunday Afternoon.  It's an absolutely gorgeous day here in Bend.  The air is warm and the smell of pine is in the air.  I'm so lucky to be here.  The wedding is a couple hours away and I can't wait to watch Tiffany and Brett tie the know and I really can't wait to DJ the reception.

Day 469...

The long drive last night turned into the long drive this morning. I got home around 2am, and I'm thankful I had someone to go with me.  The wedding and reception were awesome and I'm so happy for Tiffany and Brett!  Earlier today I was looking at the TimeHop app on my phone.  Five years ago today, the Portland Trail Blazers and Moda Health announced the naming rights deal for the Rose Garden arena.  Going forward for the next ten years, the arena would be known as "Moda Center."  I decided to commission a twitter poll about how Blazers fans felt about the naming deal half way through.  Here are the results.

Day 470...

Happy Tuesday!  Tonight, the Oregon AMS met to start the planning process for the 2018-2019 year.  We have some really amazing ideas for meeting topics and I can't wait to share those with you. Two weekends ago, I was in Sweet Home for the Oregon Jamboree.  I had mentioned in a previous post that I got to meet Clint Black.  The photo proof was finally posted.
