Days 477...478...479...480...

Day 477...

Happy Tuesday!  Today I taped the latest episode of B2.  Bonnie and I dove into the wildfire smoke and how it's not traveled back east, reaching the Midwest and upper great lakes.  Take a listen!

Two months into this podcast and I think it's going really well.  Bonnie has a come along really nice and I'm excited for her to learn this business as well.

Day 478...

Happy Wednesday!  The Podcast fun continues!  I had the opportunity to speak with Jack Harvey, a part time driver in the Verizon IndyCar series.  He will be taking part in the Grand Prix of Portland coming up next weekend at Portland International Raceway.  Just a heads up, most of the blog will be dedicated to coverage of that event next week.  Check out my conversation with Jack Harvey!

I'm looking forward to getting back to work tomorrow night at the bar.  While I was only gone one week, I really missed it and I missed the people.

On a side note, things are getting pretty serious in the mid-pacific.  Hurricane Lane is heading for Hawaii.  Forecast tracks have it coming pretty close to the Islands.

Day 479...

Hurricane Lane...this will be one for the record books.  Despite Hawaii being in the middle of the ocean, tropical events don't usually make impact.  Historically, Hawaii hasn't had many direct hits by hurricanes, but has dealt with tropical storms.  Here is a fantastic read by The Weather Channel. Speaking of The Weather Channel, they've been in wall to wall coverage all day and it's been fascinating!

Tomorrow will be an interesting day, that's for sure!

Day 480...

Happy Friday!  As I'm writing this, Hurricane Lane has been downgraded to a tropical storm.  Check out the infographic from NWS Honolulu!

What a drastic change in just 24 hours.  The upper level wind shear is ripping this storm apart quickly.  The latest forecast track has the storm moving westward and picking up speed.  The storm has been moving slowly which is always a bad sign with heavy rain sitting over the same places from hours on end.  Rain and wave heights will be the story going forward.
