Days 454...455...456...

Day 454...

Holy moly, it's HOT!  Today has been a scorcher and I know the end of this heat is near, it just needs to get here NOW.  I had a picnic invite today in Newberg, knowing full well it was hot outside.  I decided to go about halfway through the event time.  I had family plans so I couldn't stay very long, but man, it felt like the surface of the sun.  This is my car thermometer reading.  While it's not very official or accurate, it was a good representation of how it felt.

The official high came in at 99.  The streak of 90 or above continues.  We now wait to see if the smoke from Southern Oregon and Northern California fires will come in.  If it arrives, we could see temperatures tomorrow top out under 90.  Let's wait and see.

Day 455...

Happy Monday Everyone!  Well, the smoke arrived and the sky is hazy, but not enough to cap our temperatures.  The official high today was exactly 90 degrees.  Another hot and sticky day but like I said yesterday, the end is insight.  Several models give us a heavy marine air push and temperatures mid week and into the weekend will struggle to make 80, yes you read that right, 80 degrees.

Last night it became official and I tweeted about it when I saw the chart.  Jake Owen scored his 7th #1 song with "I Was Jack (You Were Diane)"

This was Jake's first number one record since he signed with Big Loud records.  I highly suggest listening to his podcast called "Good Company."  You can find it on iTunes.  Jake does a really good job pulling back the curtain on his life on and off the road.  I'm really proud of my friend.  He deserves all the success.

Day 456...

Happy Tuesday! It's Oregon Jamboree week and for the second time in a week, I was headed to Sweet Home this afternoon to drop off more product and swag for the music festival.  I really enjoy the drive down to that awesome community in the foothills of the cascades.  Sweet Home is small enough to feel like a little city, but big enough to have everything you really need in a place to spend time in.  I'm looking forward to making the drive again Friday, this time with all my camping gear!  It's shaping up to be another really awesome weekend.  I can't wait to share some experiences here with you all.  Check out the back of the ride...filled up!
