The final day of the festival and Kip Moore rocked the stage. I wasn't sure how the eclipse traffic was going to be, so I left a little bit early. The drive home was perfect. Very little actual traffic, but any cars that were driving were from California. As the late great Oregon Governor Tom McCall said, "Come visit, don't stay!" It was great to get home.
Day 113... The Great American Eclipse
The day was finally here. I've been waiting for this day for a very long time. I couldn't really sleep last night, so when I finally go out of bed about 7:30 this morning, I was super excited to get going. It is a very weird experience trying to figure out what was actually going to happen. I have seen a couple partial solar eclipses, but not the full thing. Sure I've seen the videos and pictures, but the experience it myself...a whole new ballgame. About 9:55am, I noticed the sun was no longer heating the atmosphere. It was like when the heat breaks and the temperature begins to fall. Very surreal. I knew we were getting close. Totality was just about 10:15am. I had a timelapse running and this was the frame closest to the 99% coverage we had on the northern edge.
