Just an hour or so from the start of the race ! I'm very excited and somewhat nervous with the first ever standing start....we'll see what happens. Onto the morning practice session.
With a light sprinkle and a heavy shower in the distance, several teams found the setup and speed they were looking for. Paul Tracy was running the fastest laps for the majority of the warm up. Rookie Simon Pagenaud took the top spot followed by Oriol Servia and Will Power. Team Australia (Pagenaud and Power) will start 6th and 7th. Forsythe Championship Racing teammates Servia and Tracy will start 11th and 13th. I listened in to FCR's team communications and Paul seemed happy with the car. He only complained about some slight understeer (car wanting to not turn in the direction you want it too) in some of the high speed corners such as turn 4, 5 and 7. Tracy finished the session with two hot pit stops (come in, change tires and take on fuel). Alex Tagliani, who will start 4th, was 16th fastest in the session. Rookie Alex Figge was last in 17th place.
Race will start soon, so its time to head back out to pit lane. I will have some pictures and interviews later.
