Champ Car: June 9th Let It Rain !

The rain started this morning and it didn't let up until after most of the days activites on the track were done. The rain made for an interesting practice and qualifying session. The top three from yesterday didn't change today. Justin Wilson will start on pole for Sunday's Mazda Presents The Champ Car Gran Prix of Portland. The rain slowed down the cars as they were running laps at over 70 seconds. With the weather still in question, the start tomorrow has become very important. Champ Car will attempt its first ever standing start. Drivers in the post qualifying press conference seemed a little worried about the weather causing extra trouble for the start. I think it would be good to see if they can make the standing start, however if the weather isn't playing along, then I say they go with the traditional rolling start. Sebastian Bourdais isn't thrilled about the idea of a standing start. He has been very outspoken about this.
