Happy Mother's Day! The family decided to take our Mom to the Oregon Coast for the day. It was an awesome time with family and despite the horrid traffic both ways, one of the best trips in a long time. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there! I hope you had amazing days with your families as well.
I want to talk about the weird weather I saw today. When we arrived into Cannon Beach, the sun was shining and it was a very beautiful day, however, just south of Haystack Rock, the fog had yet to burn off. By 2pm, it was nothing but sun as shown by my selfie!
Just about 4:30pm, the temperature broke and the fog reformed in a matter of minutes. My sunny skies had gone back to Oregon grey.
As 5:00pm struck, the wind kicked up. I took along the handheld anemometer just in case, and I'm glad I did. The highest gust I got was 10 mph, with an average of 4-5 mph. The fog sort of danced along the shoreline, retreating off shore 100 yards and then coming back onshore. It was really fascinating to watch!
Check out the satellite pictures showing what I was seeing.
