I'm watching the Detroit Tigers take on the Milwaukee Brewers at Comerica Park in Detroit. For the last few games, the local seagull population has decided to make the ball park home. ESPN and other sports outlets did some creative editing with the seagulls in the field and walking around the infield. During the second at bat of the game, a Brewer struck out and complained to the ump that the bird was in his way. Curtis Granderson of the Tigers was laughing in the box while a couple of the birds flew around and landed between the mound and the plate. It is very very funny to see. On the wide shots, you can see a whole flock of seagulls just walking around in right field, while others are walking behind first base. You might be asking yourself where are the seagulls coming from....easy answer. They are coming over from the Detroit River which seperates the US and Canada. The Tiger broadcasting team just said that a couple dogs have been employed to run the birds away, but only before the game. I think these birds are brave. I just hope we don't have a repeat of this....
