Happy Monday! Today was one of those moments where I feel blessed to be able to cover sports and be a member of the press corp. The 2016 Indianapolis 500 Champion Alexander Rossi was in town to promote the Indy 500 this upcoming Sunday and the Grand Prix of Portland that will take place August 31st through September 2nd. You can read about interview here.
You can listen to the latest episode of The CorserCast featuring Alexander Rossi here.
Day 386...
Today was as perfect as it could get here in Oregon, in late May. Sunny skies and warm temperatures made it truly a treasure. Normally, with my schedule working nights makes it tough getting up early, but when my cousin asked me to join him for an early tee time. I couldn't say no!
Day 387...
Happy Wednesday unless you're NOAA/NWS/NASA. Hearing word this afternoon that GOES-17 is in trouble 20,000 miles up in space. The latest geostationary satellite that was launched in March is undergoing testing when a problem with the radiator started. The infrared imager that sends back pictures during the night is overheating.
To listen to the media conference call in regards to the issues, you can hear that here.Further information: It's believed the main impacts will occur at night when the "Camera" is looking back toward the vicinity of the sun. The cooling system is having a harder time keeping the imager down to it's designed operating temperature. https://t.co/HvHq215VrI— NWS Portland (@NWSPortland) May 23, 2018
