Happy Wednesday Everyone. Well after the blog post calling for the end of winter, it looks I may have to eat my words even more. This weekend looks like it could be one of the coldest periods of the winter so far. There was some snow last night in Clark County, Washington and up in the West Hills. PDX reported a trace amount of snow. I guess winter isn't over. Oh well. I was wrong. Check out this picture from the fine folks over at Beaverton Police.

Day 291...
Thursday...enough said. It's been an interesting day as the weather models continue to show very cold air arriving this weekend with moisture on the way out. I've talked about how it is difficult to get snow when we have arctic air in place. We usually have a transition event, either coming into or out of the cold air. This time around, the timing is looking like an entry event. Will the cold air be here in time? Will the precipitation fall as snow? We will tell you coming up at 11. Storm Team Corser. I miss writing news teases. Anyways...How much snow could we be looking at? Here is what my friends at Portland NWS think.
Moisture is looking a little better with the next few fronts to approach the are into the weekend. Therefore, we increased Cascade snow amounts overnight. 12 to 18 inches at pass level through Sunday night with 2 to 3 feet at higher elevations. pic.twitter.com/nEF05AMDcJ— NWS Portland (@NWSPortland) February 15, 2018
Day 292...
Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week. I'm sitting here tonight at the bar and as the rain began to fall, the temperature is starting to fall with it. It's more likely that we could be seeing some of the white stuff in the air this weekend. I'm starting to see something new happening in newsrooms and over at the NWS. They are posting these graphics with "Worst Case Scenario" "Best Case Scenario" & "Most Likely Scenario". This is truly ground breaking meteorology! Here is what NWS Portland is saying.
Hearing about the chance for low-elevation snow on Sunday? There's still some uncertainty in the forecast. Here is our Best Case - Worst Case - More Likely scenarios for Sunday into Monday morning. #orwx #wawx ❄️ pic.twitter.com/p17PQONeTU— NWS Portland (@NWSPortland) February 16, 2018
