Inland, the coast range and Cascades tend to keep the oven on despite the cool Pacific Ocean just 60 miles away. Want some proof of how important the wind direction and water temperatures are? Quick this out...
The heat will continue for most of the Pacific Northwest tomorrow. Portland and most of the Willamette Valley will turn it up just a little bit more, with triple digits not out of the question. Make sure to hydrate and stay cool. These temperatures are no joking matter.#Newport dropped 15° in 20 minutes due to a shift in winds from out of the northwest to out of the southwest. 8:15 PM temperature: 63°— NWS Portland (@NWSPortland) June 25, 2017
