Happy Wednesday! Today I taped the latest edition of B Squared. My Cohost Bonnie is dealing with some personal issues and I pray that she finds comfort in this time of need. The tropics have finally heated up. Tropical storm Florence is forecasted to become a major hurricane. All eyes will be on the forecasts over the next couple days. Take a listen here!
B2 Episode 10 - B Squared Weather
Day 493...
Happy Thursday! It's been a fun night at the bar. This is the only night I'm working as I head to the coast tomorrow for my brother's bachelor party. I know I say it often, but I am really blessed to have such awesome co-workers and regulars here! I appreciate them so very much!
Day 494...
We made it to the beach, let the fun begin. I picked up my cousin Josh and we headed down to Lincoln City. We arrived and dropped off our luggage and headed to the beach. Most of the party had arrived and were already a couple games of wiffle ball had been played. We quickly made new teams and off we went.
Following two more games and probably some sunburns, we headed back to the house for lunch and to plan the rest of the weekend.
Day 495...
Happy Saturday! I'm sore and very tired. It was a great day on the golf course and the micro-climates of the Oregon Coast were never more present than that afternoon. The front nine, the weather was clear and warm, but as we made the turn and headed toward the beach, that Oregon marine air started to cut the visibility. The fog was so thick we couldn't see the group in front of us. You could pick up the ball better initially off the club, but it quickly disappeared. The fog came and then went as we played the 15th hole. By the time we hit 16 tee, it was no where to be found. Check out this bump my brother and I hit on the front nine.
Day 496...
The drive back home was filled with disbelief as the Cleveland Browns had rallied all the way back to tie the Pittsburg Steelers and force overtime. My cousins and I were streaming the radio call of Cleveland and couldn't help but listen to every word, every call. The game was just crazy. The Cleveland Browns? It was truly something special. I was glad to get home and climb into my bed to take a nap. The NFL season has really kicked off with a boom.
Day 497...
Happy Monday! The tropics have really exploded with storms. By my count, there are about ten systems active in the Atlantic and Pacific. The most attention is on Florence which is now a category 4 storm. The forecast track is taking this storm into the Carolina coast and it could be a very strong storm on impact. Forecast says landfall could be late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. I've been watching the coverage on The Weather Channel and it will be locked there until the storms come ashore.
Day 498...
Happy Tuesday... Today is one of those dates that I won't ever forget. September 11th, 2001. I remember the day like yesterday. I won't go into reflections today, but I will say I'm so thankful for the men and women who sacrificed everything to help those in New York, Washington DC, and Shanksville, PA. I wanted to share this video from CBS News. I was working at KXL and we were a CBS Radio affiliate at the time. I still have the audio from our sister station, WCBS on thumb drive with the first reports. It still gives me chills.
Please tell everyone around you how much you love them. I know 9-11 was a turning point for this country, but lets love people with compassion and let's help our neighbors.
