Days 483...484...485...486...

Day 483...

Happy Monday!  It's an Oregon Football game week and IndyCar is headed back to the Pacific Northwest. To say that I'm excited is an understatement.  I've looked forward to the return of open wheel racing since it left over ten years ago.  This week needs to fly by.

Day 484...

Happy Tuesday!  Last night I spent several hours helping a family member get his house ready to be put on the market.  I pray its a quick sale, that would be the best outcome for everyone.  The weather was absolutely perfect today.  Temps in the upper 80's.  I'm not ready for summer to be over just yet, however Starbucks started the eventual demise of it...with the return of PSL...

Tomorrow is the IndyCar kickoff press conference!  I can't wait!

Day 485...

Happy IndyCar is back in Portland day!  The Drivers took turns up on the podium talking about the year and those who had raced at Portland recalled their favorite memories of the previous events.  Graham Rahal seemed to be the only one who really wanted to go in-depth on any memories.  I'll be posting my interviews tomorrow once I get to the track and get set up in the media center!

Day 486...

Happy Thursday!  I got out to the track today about 10:30 to catch the first IndyCar practice session.  Because the series hadn't raced in Portland in ten years, the teams were given two long practice sessions to get cars up to speed on the course.  I had a chance to catch up with several drivers following the first run.

Scott Dixon chats with members of the media following the first practice session. (Corser)

Penske Racing's Will Power had the unofficial fastest lap just over :58 seconds.  Walking along the paddock brought back so many memories.  I'll write a retrospective this weekend.

Here is my podcast that I taped yesterday at the press conference.

I'm looking forward to spending the next three days at PIR covering my favorite event.
