Happy Friday Evening. What a great day this has been so far. I'm on a dinner break sitting in my car charging my phone. Maren Morris absolutely rocked it just a little bit ago. This girl is so impressive and I was really blown away by how she commands the stage. Her husband, Ryan Hurd joined her on stage for a duet. The set ended with her performing the crossover hit "The Middle".

I'm looking forward to seeing Brett Eldredge here shortly. The last time I saw him live was in Medford at the Jackson County Fair. He's quickly becoming one of the must see artists on stage!
Day 460...
Happy Saturday Evening! The day started early, and I mean early for me. About 6:30 this morning I woke up with my face cold and the whole tent in a light dew that was very cold to the touch. I knew I wouldn't fall back asleep and once the sun hit the tent, it would quickly warm up beyond a comfortable temperature. I put on clothes and unzipped the tent door. The blast of dew hit me in the face and instantly my face was numb again. I grabbed my duffel bag and headed to car. The part of tent camping that I don't enjoy is the thin walls of the tent and feeling of not being able to stand up. I know I need a trailer or a bigger tent. I quickly drove to the showers and the hot water quickly warmed me up. It's remarkable how even five hours of restless sleep can energize you for a long day. After joining the Ebert's for breakfast, I headed to the lake to meet up with Kristy and her sister. With temperatures around ninety, it didn't take long for the parking lot or the small beach to fill up quickly. With Mt. Washington in the distance, and some cumulus clouds to the south, the light breeze coming off the lake was perfect. I stayed for about an hour and wanted to head back because Diamond Rio and Clint Black were the highlights that I wanted to see. Diamond Rio did not disappoint. Despite playing about an hour (which easily could've been three) the group was off and left me wanting more. I left the venue to go grab dinner before Clint took the stage. The Cedar Shack in Sweet Home has become my favorite go to spot each Jamboree and Willamette Weekend. I love the service and the sweet family that owns it. After dinner, I returned to the venue with the hopes of getting to see my dear friend Jenn. We made plans to meet up. While waiting for her to arrive, I ran into my people who work for the festival. In a total surprise moment, they asked if I wanted to meet Clint. I had to say yes. I thanked them and moved over into the meet and greet line. Jenn soon joined and it was so great to catch up with her.
Clint Black was incredibly grateful to meet everyone. He's a living legend in country music. A highlight for me.
Day 461...
Happy Sunday! It was another very cold night. I woke up around 6:45am and was shivering. I had to get up and get dressed. I made my way to the car which was actually somewhat warm. I headed off to the shower and got my day started. After a fun night with friends at different camp sites, I was looking forward to seeing Brantley Gilbert wrap up the festival. I once again hit up the Cedar Shack for lunch and was able to get a decent charge on my phone. I headed back to the venue to see Daryl Worley on stage. He ended his set with "Have You Forgotten," his tribute song for the 9-11 attacks. I hadn't heard that song in several years, but it came flooding back to me. I got chills hearing it live and it brought back so many memories of mine of that day. I spent time with friends again at the campsites near the venue and headed back in before Brantley took the stage. I went backstage for his meet and greet. He is still humble and a really good guy. I know he's not your typical cowboy hat wearin' singer, but he's as a country as the day is long. From the first song out to "Kick It In The Sticks," his energy was up and he put on a great show. Another Oregon Jamboree in the books and another fun weekend down. I was so thankful that I got to spend quality time with friends, new and old, and I got to enjoy the music and people I truly adore.
Day 462...
It's truly amazing a what good nights sleep will do for your body. I quickly fell asleep once I got home and woke up around 9. I woke up feeling refreshed, but knowing I'd probably need a nap at some point. About 2:30 this afternoon, I hit a wall. I decided to take a nap and I slept for a couple hours. I still have the car packed from the weekend, and I'll hopefully get around the unpacking it tomorrow. According to my apple watch, between Friday and Sunday, I took over 47,000 steps and walked the equivalent of 23 miles, basically from Portland to Aurora.
Day 463...
Happy Tuesday Everyone! The heat is back! The National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Warning from this afternoon and extending into Thursday Night. Temperatures are going to be getting close to triple digits. If you want to beat the heat, check out the infographic from NWS Portland!
Headed to a nearby recreational hot spot this week? Most of them will be hotter than usual, unless you go to the #Coast. Cooler Friday & Saturday. #orwx #wawx #pdxtst pic.twitter.com/U4BnRJGF22— NWS Portland (@NWSPortland) August 7, 2018
Make sure to stay hydrated! Temperatures will cool off this weekend, so this heat will be short lived.
