Days 413...414...

Day 413...

Happy Monday Everyone!  After the amazing storms of yesterday, it was pretty quiet around these parts today.  Temperatures warmed up nicely and it was a gorgeous day all around.  I love warm June days.  They are really something to behold in Oregon.  Today was really the first chance I had to sit down and watch the World Cup.  Since to US isn't in it, I don't have a team to root for so I will just enjoy it as it goes.  Fox Sports is doing a really nice job presenting the games and giving the viewers enough back story and profiles that you feel like you know somewhat about teams that you have never heard of.

One of the more interesting stories that I've followed is the return of a doppler radar to Puerto Rico.  The previous radar was knocked out with Hurricane Maria.  It's been a very long nine months of no Nexrad coverage, but that adventure is over.  The radar will be operational by the end of the week.

Here is a great article from The Weather Channel detailing the restoration.

Day 414...

Happy Tuesday!  Normally I don't get too hyped for weather events that are just forecasted, but I can't help myself today.  Tomorrow, everyone is calling for the chance of some pretty strong storms around the area.  SPC just issued the outlook.  Check it out below.

The marginal risk for severe weather exists.  The parameters are there, now we just need a trigger.  Earlier today, I tweeted to NWS Portland to see if they would activate their spotters.  I knew that they didn't do it anymore, but it was still fun to get a reply back.

I replied back to them..."#activated"  I can't wait.  I hope we get some good storms tomorrow!
