Happy Wednesday! The weather was absolutely perfect today! Temperatures were in the 80's and we had record highs again. Check out the stats from NWS Portland.
McMinnville, Hillsboro, Portland, Vancouver, and Troutdale all set new high temperature records for today. Most inland sites were in the 80s, but at the coast, many locations struggled to hit 60°. Records: https://t.co/5bvRY7KfP6— NWS Portland (@NWSPortland) April 26, 2018
For those who feel that it was too warm for April, have no fear, we start the cool down tomorrow.
Day 360...
Happy Thursday! A quick post before midnight as we are absolutely slammed here at the bar. Earlier tonight, you could feel the temperature break just about 6pm. The heat was gone and the cool ocean air was quickly coming into the valley. It was absolutely pleasant!
The NFL Draft tonight and Baker Mayfield went number 1 to Cleveland. I've been watching his series on Facebook, "Becoming Baker" Take a look if you want to follow him from winning the Heisman to the evening before the draft.
Day 361...
Happy Friday! Cue Rebecca Black! Some interesting temperature changes today vs the last couple days. Check out the info graphic from NWS Portland.
Temperatures will remain near normal until next week when the warmer air returns! I hope everyone has a great weekend!Anybody else feeling déjà vu? 71 years ago to the date, Portland's high temperatures dropped from 86°F on April 26th to 61°F on April 27th. Whether or not the Portland Airport will hit 61°F today remains to be seen, but it will be close... pic.twitter.com/fguefARA1h— NWS Portland (@NWSPortland) April 27, 2018
Day 362...
Happy Saturday! Thunderstorms started to pop this afternoon and I decided to go chasing. I sat on a cell in Washington County that ended up fizzling out, but thats okay. Several more storms popped up in the metro area. Check out this video that Matt Zaffino shot.
Pea-sized hail in Slo-mo! No thunder or lightning, but still rad. @NWSPortland #pdxtst @kgwnews #mykgw pic.twitter.com/3E1nZiYyNv— Matt Zaffino (@Zaffino) April 29, 2018
And now check out this video Mark Nelsen shared of lightning hitting a tree!
Poor old Douglas Fir was no match for a lightning strike this afternoon. Great video though from Stayton/Sublimity area ! As you can imagine, it's Oregon's state tree so there are plenty more to go around. #pdxtst @NWSPortland https://t.co/CBLe8v3l79 @fox12oregon pic.twitter.com/91wsrJFwXS— Mark Nelsen (@MarkNelsenKPTV) April 29, 2018
