Happy Tuesday Everyone! I spent the better part of the day digging through some old boxes as I'm trying to condense down things I truly need and some stuff I can part ways with. I came across a piece of technology from 2005 that I bought when it came out. I was at KXL and went to the Apple Store at Pioneer Place during my lunch break to pick this up. Yes you guessed it, it was the 512 MB Apple Shuffle.
I charged it up and it works great. I listened to the device and its funny how some songs I still love, others I haven't heard in a very long time. I'm really glad I found this.
Day 284...
It's a beautiful Wednesday. The sun was out most of the day and temperatures were in the upper 50's. It was almost as perfect as a winter day can get in Oregon. I woke up this morning to an email back about a job I applied for and got to working on the paperwork they requested. I took a couple hours to continue to work on it tonight over at the bar. I know it may sound funny, but I get inspired over there. I can really think and get things done. After I got home, I was surprised to see it on, but the Olympics have started. Yes the Opening Ceremonies aren't until Friday (US Broadcast) but some competition has started with a compact schedule. One of the best parts of the games is the theme written by John Williams. If you know me, you know his impact of his music on my life. Speaking of KXL, when I was there during the summer games of 2000, in Sydney, we ran coverage of the games at night. During the day, the satellite channel would remain open and would play a constant loop of this piece of music. While it isn't the Olympic theme, its a close second and one of my all time favorite Williams' pieces. I present "The Olympic Spirit"....
During the last winter games in Sochi, Russia, NBC Sat down with John Williams to talk about composing the Olympic Theme.
