Day 239...Christmas Eve...
Whoa. Talk about an interesting day weather wise. We started this morning with a shot of freezing rain/sleet/snow depending on location. The snow was pretty confined to downtown with the first wave of precip that moved in. The afternoon break allowed for some people on the westside of town to get out and finish shopping or head to church. I was the later, and when we pulled into the parking lot, it started to snow. The flakes were consistent with abundant moisture in the atmosphere. I thought it would stop, but I was wrong. We got the heads up during the service that it didn't stop, so we had to make our way home in a slow manner. Snow made it all the way south toward Wilsonville. With snow on top of ice, especially south of town, it made travel difficult. It would normally take me ten minutes from home to the bar, but that drive tonight took 25 minutes. I didn't slide around much but others did. I had a great time with family celebrating and I'm looking forward to Christmas tomorrow, but for now, I'm settling in with my two favorite bassets...Molly May and Lola.
Day 240...Christmas!
Merry Christmas! He is the reason for the season. I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas. My day was great, but still really missing my dad. I know that feeling will never go away, but with that said, the greatest gift I got was a copy of my dad's journal, in published form. Such an amazing gift from my mom. I grateful for that.
