Days 173...174...175...176...177...178

Day 173...

Happy Thursday Everyone.  Today was one of those days where I was just happy to be living in the NW.  The weather was fantastic by my standards....others, not so much. Check out these awesome photos by my friend Tyler Mode, shared by NWS Portland.

Day 174...

Friday Friday...Gotta Get Down On Friday.  Okay, no matter how old I get, the Rebecca Black Friday song will stick with me.  It's so basic but I love it. Moving on... I've managed to pick up a small cold.  I hate these things and they are never over quickly.  Rest, fluids, and some alka-seltzer cold medicine will make me feel better.  No band tonight, so it's just me playing music.  I'm super excited.  I'm also looking forward to the "atmospheric river" headed our way.  Umbrellas up!

Day 175...

It's an Oregon Gameday and the Ducks are in Pasadena to take on UCLA.  Here is the DuckCast for the contest this afternoon.

Remember when I was talking about the "atmospheric river" yesterday? Well that river of moisture has arrived and man, its coming down in sheets out there right now. Welcome to fall/winter in the Pacific Northwest.

Day 176...

The deluge has come...and it's almost over.  Check out this picture from NWS Portland.  This is their rain gauge.

That's a lot of water.  Thankfully, its coming to an end soon.  Here is what I tweeted.

Day 177...

Not much happening today other than trying to really kick this cold.

Day 178...

Happy Tuesday!  I got to play a little golf today at King City with my uncle and my cousin.  It wasn't my best round this year, but hopeful to get maybe one more in before the weather shuts us down.  I've posted a lot on this blog about the new GOES satellite that was recently launched and became GOES-16.  NOAA Satellites tweeted this today...the newest GOES satellite is almost ready to take its place as GOES-R.  When launched in 2020, this bad boy will move into storage until needed.  GOES-17 or what will become GOES-W is scheduled to launch spring of 2018.
