A private plane left New York last night after the draft and touched down at PDX around 4am this morning. A number one pick, his family, another Blazer draft pick and his coach, several members of the Blazer "Entourage", and a couple suits all got off the Paul Allen owned jet and walked across to the terminal and the latest chapter in BlazerMania was written. Greg Oden, slept most of the trip according to sources. Most of the people crammed into the back of the plane didn't sleep or every relax....they couldn't. Greg Oden arrived in Portland on a multimillion dollar jet and arrived at Pioneer Courthouse Square on a multimillion dollar public transportation system. Oden was followed off the train by blazer employees all wearing an "ODEN" tee-shirt. The crowd was huge for the first public introduction of Oden as a Blazer. Chants of "Oden,Oden" often filled the public plaza and he introduced his family and girl friend.
After hearing from most of the front office staff, Oden and others left downtown and headed to the Blazers Practice Facility in Tualatin. The media got a chance to be introduced to Oden and vice versa. Oden sat in between general manger Kevin Pritchard and head coach Nate McMillan. Oden held up his Blazer Jersey, he will be wearing # 52.
